Hoja Santa! The fine Mexican by Albert Adria!

Finally the long awaited exclusive Mexican by the hand of none other than Albert Adria in collaboration with its Mexican head chef Paco Mendez opened its doors few weeks back. Sharing the entrance with the more informal and buzzing Taqueria Niño Viejo, Hoja Vieja is behind the curtain and reminds you of those clandestine restaurants. A very quiet and posh atmosphere, with the service playing their function in harmony with the decor. You can see the open kitchen and observe all the process of your gourmet dishes.

On Calle Commerç, just opposite the Estacion de Françia , you will come across Tlaxcal. It is a gastronomic Taqueria and Mexican Cantine, clean and simple decoration, a very helpful staff and a good variety of dishes with many vegetarian options. Excellent quality food and wonderful cocktails! Perfect for a cool dinner or in a group as they have a space downstairs too.

Cantina Machito! Mexican in the Gracia area.

I had mentioned the Cantina Machito in a previous post: Funky Gracia.Today we will go in. This Mexican is different from the others you would find in Barcelona. An expert, in Mexican food, from Dallas said it was quite an authentic one. This place has a good terrace when the weather permits you to enjoy it; which is many days in summer and winter in our BelleBarcelone.

Walking in the gothic quarter of Barcelona!

On this post, c/Canuda, Plaça del Pi, c/Peritxol c/Avinyo and the restaurant Los Azulejos.
We had done a tour of "Barrio gotico" during Christmas, ( On the post, Shine your Light!) but it is such a lovely area and there is so much to discover that it is always a nice place to walk, now that spring is here. The gothic quarter is the center of the old city of Barcelona. A promenade in this labyrinthine street plan that leads you to open squares is the essence of Barcelona.
