A weekend in Lisbon!

Lisbon, just an hour flight away is a good destination for a weekend. I had been to Portugal once before in the magical Algarve coast for an amazing destination wedding.
So this time was our second time, and we discovered Lisbon. An interesting town with some sceneries that seem from another time. I loved the Barrio Alto and Chiado with their little lanes and great stores.
Take the old tram,  number 28 to go to the castillo de San Jorge and admire the views and the area with their little lanes and cafés. Alfama is the area you can see from up, it used to be a fisherman village.

Visiting Belem seemed like being in another town, having those typical Belem tarts are a must; they are like egg tarts, I didn't fancy them too much but it is a must while you are there.
We also did a few hours trip to the  Fatima Church, we just took a cab as we were 5 of us and you can discuss the price and get a good bargain.
We stayed at the Intercontinental, near the Plaza Marques de Pombal, where the modern Lisboa starts. From the plaza you can walk down the Av Liberdale, the most important lane where the luxury shopping is situated. You can then go the calle de la plaza de los Restauradores.
Lisboa was fun to go for the weekend, different country and atmosphere just a short flight away.
The view from the Castillo!

Try som Ginjinha in A Ginjinha!  A mix of cherry and vermouth.

Loved La Tasca de Comadre en La Rua Diario. In the Barrio Alto.

And some of the lovely stores around.

Loved the tile work on many old buildings!

A coffee at A Brasileira is a must!

Belem!

Fatima!

Av Liberdale!

A funky store!
