Unusual tapas in a casual bar! The Matis Bar with michelin star dishes!

I was invited to Matis Bar a couple of weeks back and was surprised when I entered. It looked like a normal bar in a basement, it is situated in the Colegio de Arquitectos de Catalunya.This in not a bar where you get your basic croqueta and beer. It is the small sister of the Michelin star restaurant Capritx by Arthur Martinez in Terrassa; the tapas and dishes you get have a pleasantly surprising strong personality in them.
The atmosphere is of a casual bar you would stop on way, their prices are reasonable but you will get some interesting and unique dishes. 
It is just near the Cathedral of Barcelona, in the gothic area, so it is perfect when you are around the area; you can get some fine tapas and enjoy your night and a creative menu designed by Artur Martinez. The service is great, we got to spend time with Artur's brother and the chef Marc Ribas who explained all the dishes; and the pricing is very reasonable. It is a catalan mediterranean menu, they adapted it well for me as a vegetarian. The atmosphere may not be up to standard of their dishes but it is quite a casual, fun and colorful space; perfect to go with friends.

Great selection of wines!

They are not olives but cheese and tomato, a wonderful combination that explodes in your mouth: Spherification. Bombón de queso y tomate!

Escalivada Tartar - catalan ratatouille- fine and delicate, the colors and smells of Mediterranean!

Delicious AjoBlanco cream: white gazpacho, that's  what used to be served before the tomatoes arrived in Europe!

Spicy and tasty potatoes!

Cold Passion fruit soup: interesting concept, originally served but I found both the desserts a bit too sweet for my taste.
