Cheese Bar by Poncelet: cheese lovers paradise in the elegant Melia Sarria!

Are you a cheese lover, this is your place! I loved it!
10 years back the Poncelet group was created . First came a gourmet cheese store and a cheese center, then few years later they opened the very successful Cheese Bar in Madrid and since last month we have our very own Cheese Bar by Poncelet in Barcelona.

Situated in the Melia Sarria Hotel, it has an entrance from the hotel and an independent entrance from the road.You enter in their signature library, check out the lamp above you there. Then you enter the restaurant. It is an elegant and cozy space; wood, marble, touches of colours with a wonderful vertical garden. The smell of cheese is slightly present, but it is not strong or unpleasant. They have150 different cheeses from all over the world, many Spanish, French, Swiss, and other parts of Europe as well as some unheard ones from the USA. Their selection changes according to the seasons as well as their menu; soon raclettes and fondue will be on the menu as the cooler days approach.
Their service is excellent and very professional. The dishes are well thought out and very well presented. How much can you do with cheese!
Many vegetarian dishes, some fish and meat dishes and if you go with friends who are not too fond of cheese, you can also get some cheese less dishes. The kitchen is open for lunch and dinner but the restaurant is open the full day. Great for lunch even greater for dinner with some of their wonderful wines, their wine list is very detailed. A wonderful girlfriends breakfast or a cozy tea with a wonderful cheese cake at 4pm! You get to see at continuation the Cheese Bar. Bellow I will continue with the hotel.
