Carles Abellan was originally contracted for 15 days in El Bulli and stayed there 15 years. He has since then made a name for himself and has the famous Comerç 24, a michelin star restaurant with creative cuisine; the Tapas 24, typical tapas bar- very fresh and authentic tapas in the city center, with a terrace facing Pg de Gracia; 2 "xiringuitos" on the beach ; Bravo 24 with traditional tapas with a modern interpretation in the W Hotel.
Suculent, by Carlos Abellan, has brought a breeze of fresh air in the Raval, an old wine house turned into this small resturant with typical catalan stews and dishes; Suculent from"sucar lent" means to dip slowly ( basically to dip your bread in the succulent dishes); traditional food with modern techniques. And just last week its small sister "Taverna del Suculent" opened its door.
It is the typical place for a "vermut"; for an informal meal in an inviting atmosphere with its red, black and wooden interior. It has wines, beer and Vermut on the tap, the service is wonderful, young and efficient. If you are around the Raval, go check it out.
They serve the typical "vermut" dishes and some others with twist and modern touches with Chef Tony Romero "al mando". Check their coasters, they have nice messages on them; their vermut is great and the ambience is fabulous. Definitely the right place to be in The Raval.
Perfect for weekends Vermut or for a quick bite any day at any time!
Open from 12.30pm to 1am everyday except Wednesdays.
