Asian route!

Carlota Akaneya, Thai Thai and Memoria de China : nice asian restaurants, place to go in Barcelona
When you rise in the morning, give thanks for the light, for your life, for your strength. Give thanks for your food and for the joy of living. If you see no reason to give thanks, the fault lies in yourself.

I, many times, have the sudden urge to have some hot curry or noodles, especially during these cold days.
We love Japanese food, but Japanese food is not only Sushis! Even tough I love sushis, we just found this sukiyaki joint. It is the first of its kind in Barcelona, the authentic Hibachi grill which is fueled with white charcoal. From Kyoto to Barcelona, Carlota Akaneya on c/pintor fortuny, will welcome you in its homely atmosphere, with their several different-sized tables and their own grill in the middle.
You will roast your veggies while talking and feeling at home. Ok, it is more targeted to the meat eaters, but the veggies on charcoal are delicious, and you do it yourself. The owners are a couple, Spanish and his lovely Japanese partner. It also offers some Spanish style tapas, you will really have a unique cozy experience and maybe meet some celebrities as you can see on the pictures above , while eating and having chilled beer or a warm sake.

And when I crave for hot curry, Thai food can be an excellent option. Thai Thai, on Eixample, is indeed authentic Thai food; this little place has a quick and gracious service, reasonably priced and delicious home cooking. They will ask you if you want it hot or medium or non-spicy. My children love it too! Their Massaman curry is great as well as the pad Thai, vegetable rolls. . They do have a lot of vegetarian food to offer.
Of course you do have a Chinese restaurant in every corner nowadays, but Memorias de China is a classy and elegant restaurant. The deco is beautiful, the layout is inspired from ancient imperial China, and it has an open glass kitchen from where their delectable dishes come out from. Their Cantonese rice is delightful and it is one of the only restaurants in Barcelona that will offer you mock chicken dishes as well as vegetarian duck with crepes. Calle Lincoln 17

“So when you're cold
From the inside out
And don't know what to do,
Remember love and friendship,
And warmth will come to you.”
