Indian Flavors in Barcelona!

Hello! So many of you ask me all the time. What is your favorite Indian Restaurant?
We now have quite a few good choices in Barcelona. You can get the authentic spicy taste or some flavors more adapted to the Mediterranean palate.
Here is a small compilation of few of my favorites.

My all time favorite Tandoor: where the interiors are on par with the colorful dishes. I have seen this young chef, Ivan Surinder, grow and mature to reach the perfect combination of flavors.
Favorite Dish: Aloo Tikki : a sort of potato croquette filled with chick peas and covered with yoghurt and a tamarind spicy sauce.
Carrer d'Aragó, 8,

Closed on Mondays.

Rasoi. Opened few months back it offers great aromatic dishes, in a quiet atmosphere. The chef is a former chef in one of the best 5 star hotel in India.
Favorite dish: Chilly paneer: spicy fried Indian cheese in an Chinese-Indian sauce. Their vegetarian biryani is excellent.
Calle De Londres 63.

Dhaba, another one opened just a year back. Home food with a Mediterranean touch, the downstairs is cute and quiet.
Favorite dish: Chaat: Indian street food, flavored bombs filled with spicy tamarind sauce, potatoes…
Passeig de Manuel Girona, 50

Surya, this classic in town has a young and inviting atmosphere. Great to go with friends for some wonderful drinks and bites.
Favorite dishes: Pani Puri  (It consists of a round, hollow puri, fried crisp and filled with a mixture of flavored water) & the best Kulfi in town (Indian creamy cardamom ice-cream).
Surya Muntaner:  Carrer del Consell de Cent, 236

Swagatham: simplicity, nothing extravagant but the real authentic flavors and a delightful service.
Favorite dish: Paneer Tikka.
Carrer de Sant Agustí, 10

Chenai Masala Dosa: Authentic south Indian flavors. They started with takeaway and now they have this simple place in Les Corts. This is the place to get Dosas ( the famous Indian crispy crepes) and yummy steaming idlis with the tasty tomatoes or coconut chutney. Their sambhar is perfect.
Favorite dish: Dahi Vada, Idlli sambhar.
