This is the time of the year
where I choose the best 9 restaurants of 2017. Some are fine dining and some
are casual but they have left their mark in my culinary journey,
In Barcelona: some new
discoveries such as Restaurante
Bonanova, Sant Antonio Glorios , the restaurant at the Alma Hotel; and some all time favorite such as Bodega 1900 and Disfrutar
( which has been on my list since their beginning year after year).
And around the globe: A reverie in Goa, India. Arth in Mumbai, India. La Guerite in the Côte dÁzur in France.
L'Orangerie in Paris, France.

Restaurante
Bonanova isn’t new in town but I just discovered it. The elegant building and
the homely interior serving quality dishes is the place to go for a cozy time
in family. Read here.
· Sant Antonio
Glorios reopened its door with a facelift and a change of name. It used to be
the classic Bohemic restaurant. Francesc
Gimeno Manduley (Mandu) has joined Joan Carles of the famous Xampanyet and has
opened this gastro bar with an informal look and a wonderful offer. Cold cuts,
tapas and dishes are all made with excellent products. Don’t miss their Bravas! The famous Bohemic bravas,
one of the best bravas in town! And of course some Xampanyet.
·
The Alma hotel
has always captivated me, it is an oasis in the middle of the buzzing city.
Discovering their summer menu in the garden was a unique experience where
flavors & fresh products were served delicately. Perfect any time of the
day when you need a serene moment. Read
here.
·
Bodega 1900, the
most informal restaurant of world known chef Albert Adria is one of my favorite
in town. You can savor Michelin star preparations in a casual way. Always using
the best products and cold cuts, conserves and modern techniques, the fusion of
traditional and contemporary methods combined with an excellent service with
maître d’ Angel in charge is always a wonderful experience. Read here for our
first time at the Bodega.
· Disfrutar has
been on my list of best 9 since the beginning but its always a new discovery
and an explosion of flavors offered by the genius chefs. Just three years after
their opening, here they are with two Michelin stars. My favorite modern haute
cuisine restaurant in town.
And now my favorite during
my travels.
·
A Rêverie, in Goa, as
the name says it is is a dream where the taste buds wake up to an unique
experience.
·
La Guerite in
the island Sainte Marguerite has everything you ever dream of. The endless blue
sea, great food, a really paradisiac setting for the summer months.
·
L’Orangerie in
the George V hotel. The third signature gastronomic
restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel George V, L’Orangerie, offers a brand new
dining experience in the heart of the Marble Courtyard with its terrace,
already home to the recently opened Le George (1* Michelin Star) restaurant and
the three Michelin starred le Cinq. L’Orangerie offers a traditional French
contemporary cuisine imagined by Chef David Bizet in a true light setting.
- Arth: an explosion of wonderful flavors. The cuisine is Modern Indian and the kitchen is a traditional one. As in Ancient India, only wood fire, hot sand and charcoal are used for all their dishes to bring you the authentic flavors of all the four corners of India. The talented chef Amninder Sandhu is behind the wonderful dishes where the local ingredients are used to make the most of the flavors using spices in a moderate and appropriate way.
