Just looking at the sea is so refreshing and energizing,
that now that the sun is out it is always nice to do so.
Blanes, is a small town on the Costa Brava an hour away from
Barcelona.
It is a quiet town with great food.
Sa Lola is a gastronomic bar where you can enjoy sofiscated
tapas on the beach.
You will get your usual tapas as well as some interesting
ones like the famous spherical olives or the bursting mozzarella. The owners,
Rafa and Albert, have both worked with Ferran Adria in the past.
You will surely remember them.
They opened last July and they have been quite busy since then. The restaurant is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

The tables are on the beach whereas in the
restaurant, you will find the kitchen and the restroom.
The name Sa Lola comes from Lola of course (a common
spanish name as well as the famous song La Bella Lola) and Sa. Sa is used on
the Costa Brava and on the Baleares Islands as the substitute for La or El. And
that is how you get Sa Lola in Blanes.
The food was great; the service was warm and fantastic. If
you are planning a day trip on the coast this weekend, I would really recommend
this one.
