DUBAI, the perfect city to stop over for a few days while on a long journey to Asia for instance. A cosmopolitain city with a diverse population. Great for shopping, child friendly; it also has an inimaginable variety of restaurants from international cuisine; many world famous chains or restaurants- only present in their origin country- will also be found in Dubai. I was pleasantly surprise to be able to have a hot chocolate at my favorite Parisian spot at the Dubai Mall: Café Angelina. You also have Rosa Mexicana, The Cheese Cake Factory, Cinnabons, Hummingbird, Shiv Sagar just to name few.
The Dubai Mall is perfect for shopping, you have all the international brands; they have a great kids zone (Kidzania for kids from 4 years old; Sega Republic for older children), the best and unique shoe gallery with the most coveted shoes you can dream of.
The Emirate Mall has the only indoor sky slopes in the world. You have the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, a wonderful experience while you are at the top.
Dubai also have some wonderful hotels to stay in for a complete luxurious sejour; Atlantis The Palm perfect while travelling with kids with their huge waterpark and aquarium (you can also do a day trip to their waterpark); The Address Downtown surrounded by the city landmarks, perfect for shopping in this comfort zone; One & Only the Palm, perfect for honeymooners, only accessible via boats; for the brand conscious the Armani Hotel; for the ultimate luxury Burj Al Arab; and many more hotels...
You can also visit the old Dubai with its souk to feel the essence of the Eastern world; desert safari, camel ride, quad bike tour...
