Italy Part 1: Portofino & Cinque Terre - Visual Diary!

Italy is always great to discover and I had long wanted to discover Cinque Terre
We decided to stay at Portofino and we couldnt have chosen better. This little fishing village with its picturesque harbor is filled with charm and glamour.
·      Portofino Harbour and their great cuisine: Don’t miss the famous Pesto ala Genovese. Restaurants we liked: I Gemeli , El Portico and Chuflay at the Splendido Mare.

·      Views and paradisiac experience at our hotel The Belmond Splendido. Located in the hills with the most scenic views to the coast, we can understand why Elisabeth Taylor and Richard Burton stayed there many times. “ From stars above a moonlit ocean to swaying palms in the garden, live la dolce vita in Portofino”.

·      We took a day trip to Cinque Terre ( Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia & Riomaggiore).  You have different ways to travel there, by cab till Santa Margherita de Liugure where you get the train to Monterosso Al Mare and from there on you hop and use the ferry boats. You can also have a private boat or drive to Riomaggiore and then by boat. A passenger ferry runs between the villages except Corniglia. The five villages are just breathtaking and even if its filled with tourist its still worth going and have a bite and some wine in each village. Start with a focaccia and continue with some aperitvo and lunch and dessert, each in a different island.
