In September 2016, Banker's Bar hosted the New York famous clandestine Please Do not Tell, transforming the space into a clandestine club with hot dogs signed by celebrated chefs. And now the exclusive Banker’s Bar in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel has another original proposal. This winter, GastónAcurio moves the gastronomic experience of a typical Lima tavern to the comfortable Banker's Bar.
Peru's most award-winning chef started in the Mimosa garden
at the Mandarin Oriental this summer, and now changes his proposal to adapt
it this winter by returning to the
origins of Peruvian cuisine in the new Banker's Bar menu.
Tomas de la Paz, is the head chef in charge to execute the
Peruvian delicacies. "Peruvian cuisine is cheerful and fast, with a mix of
textures, perfect to be tasted in an informal format like Banker's
Bar," says Tomas, "Gastón's restaurants are like a bar. He likes the bar
and the interaction."
Tomas De la Paz works hand-in-hand with Rafael Tapia, the local
bar manager, to entertain diners in the evenings.
The offer has the typical offers of the Nikkei cuisine with
Gaston Acurio’s stamp: Ceviches, tiraditos, nigiris, makis or butichifas.
Many fish and seafood as well as meat but chef Tomas was
able to offer me some excellent vegetarian finger food to blend with exclusive cocktails.
Hours: Monday to Sunday.
From Sunday to Wednesday, from 5:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Thursdays, Fridays
and Saturdays, from 5pm to 3am.
The cuisine of Gastón will be available from 19h to 00h.
