Menorca!
I just loved it. As my friend told me it is really a magical island. Menorca is
a small island, you can rent a car at the airport and enjoy this island for the
weekend. You have 2 main cities Mahon and Cuidadella. Each of them with their
own charm. Cuidadella is more picturesque
and Mahon is the city capital of Menorca. Mahon has the second deepest natural harbour in the world and
is the 2nd largest natural port in Europe. Menorca, a Balearic Island, has
a mix of colonial and local architecture.
Visit their beautiful “Calas” (creek) where
you will get paradisiac beaches and views. Beaches/calas:
Pregonda, cala Turqueta, Cala mitjana, Cala son Saura, Biniparratx.
You
could also visit Far D’artux.
Fornells
is a fishermen port where many Barceloneses summer there. Discover Binibeca
Vell, a small but serene village, in the southeast of Menorca, known as the
“pueblo de Pescadores”, fishermen village. A must go!
Visit
the Cova d’en Xoroi, even tough touristic, it has fascinating views. Go in the
evening and admire the sunset while having a drink, marvelous!
Cas Consol in Cuidadella: wonderful restaurant with an amazing view
of the port. Ask to sit on the Terrace. Plaça des Born, 17. Ciutadella de
Menorca (Illes Balears). Telèfon de contacte: 971 48 46 54
Café Balear in
Cuidadella: we didn’t go but it was recommended by few friends.
You have loads
of restaurants on the port of Mahon. Vermut on the port on Sunday afternoon in
Can Vermut with live music. What else do you need, magnificent views, vermut
and music!
